What is Fabrikam

I am having a "senior moment" and I don't even consider myself that senior
yet. :-)

What line of business is Fabrikam (or The World Online as it used to be
known) in version 9?

For some reason, I was thinking that Fabrikam sold bicylces but looking at
the items list, it appears that they are some sort of computer parts company.
(Maybe I am thinking of CRM for the bicycles.)

This is not a critical question, I was just trying to remember that if
Fabrikam was a real company, what line of business are they in.

Thanks.

Fabrikam is the sample company; basically it replaced The World Online.

Hope this helps, rc

I realize that but I am still wondering that when I am describing Fabrikam, I
want to be able to say the line of business that Fabrikam is in? A small
office supply company????

Judging by the items in the inventory, I'd say a computer store that also
sells some office supplies. There are mostly computers and things to
fix/assemble them - the chair and watch(!) parts are the exceptions to that
rule...

How about describing it as a mishmash of sample data that doesn't always
make sense? :-)

In reviewing the inventory items a "small office supply company" would suffice.

Thanks, rc

I think The World Online was more of an office supply company (looking at
the inventory). But when Small Business Manager was introduced, Fabrikam
was created and it had bicycle stuff if I recall. And then when GP used
Fabrikam the data was merged. And of course then when you add the PA sample
data, Field Service sample data, MFG sample data, etc now it's all over the
place and pretty much a mismash of stuff.
