Deleting "auto-fill" cache

Is there a way to delete the cache from the auto-fill drop downs in the
Maintenance windows? I have some users who have entered incorrect data that
I'd like to delete from the drop down menus in the Maintenance windows fields.

TIA,
Todd

If you go to Setup>User Preferences and click on the AutoComplete button,
you'll have the option to clear out the cache...but it's for all windows.

If the list of problem items that you want to remove is pretty small
you can remove them individually.

Start typing in the field with a problem item.
When the list pops up, locate the wrong item.
Right click on that item and pick "Remove from list"

When the drop down list appears you can right click on any of the values in
it and choose Remove From List. This will clear just the one offending
entry without having to reset all the auto-fill values.

Also you might consider setting the 'Remove Unused Entries After' some number
of days. The way it comes out of the box is to store 10,000 entries for each
field for each user and keep them until the 10,000 is used up. Wow!

And take that 10,000 and lower it. That's 10,000 per user per window. When
a window loads and has to bring in 10,000 choices for each autofill field, it
can take a long time to load.

Richard,

You've got it all wrong!!!!! Just keep throwing more and more hardware
at it. Shouldn't every business using GP have both workstations and
servers with multiple processers, super large drives, the newest and
fastest networks, and be updating all of it every six months or so to
accomodate the newest problems introduced by people who have zero
experience in the real world but can really produce bloated systems in
the name of "features". OK, I feel better now.....
