Hi there, we are looking at EDI "providers" True Commerce, Data Mason's
Vantage Point, and V-Sync. I am looking for any feedback you might have,
good or bad, on any of these three. If you would feel more comfortable
sharing negative feedback privately please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I've used vSync's EDI solution for GP quite a few years between 2004 and
2007. Being a Canadian company, we felt that they had troubles to really
understand the specific situation of the Canadian market, essentially
when it came to tax calculation and so on. The other point was that
vSync's solution is not a complete solution, but rather a module that is
added to GP and still needs an external portion for the translation and
communication of your EDI data (which vSyncs usually provides thru
Sterling Commerce's product, being a partner of it). Every time we
wanted a new EDI partner added to our ERP, it was costly and took a lot
of time (some partner took many months to be completed).

Thus we decided at one point that we needed a much more open and
customizable solution, which would be more a toolbox than an
out-of-the-box solution. We evaluated different products and our final
candidate was the company SoftShare that has two product that do the job
: ECS (communication) and Delta (translation). They offer also a free
nice EDI Notepad tools that allows you to edit EDI documents quickly.
Still to upload EDI information into your GP, you need a 3rd party
product, which we selected SCRIBE that have connectors for the most ERP
system (as like GP). Again it was because SCRIBE is a toolbox and
provides you all the flexibility to customize your data flow.

It depends of course of your comfort zone about EDI... if you're quite
comfortable with getting your hands dirty :-) with doing a little
coding, then this is the way to go. You'll save a lot of $$$ with this,
since OOTB solutions are quite expensive and then you're tied with the
ISV for every customization... which can be costly, even when it comes
to add new EDI partners once in a while as your business grows.
SoftShare offers also very competitive rates for the EDI data transport
between you and your partners.

Hope this helps,
Have a great time

Hi Jason,

You've probably already moved forward with a solution, but thought I'd
post anyway. I work for RedTail Solutions, which provides a Managed
EDI Service for GP - bit of a different approach from the software you
are evaluating. Typically we act as a virtual EDI department using
our interface to GP, a cloud-based EDI solution combined with an
expert team people that handle the arcane details. You can get our
solution fully operational with active trading partners for a few
thousand dollars.

If you are interested in more info please head over to
